"Despite always wanting to come to China there were still nagging doubts as I stepped off the plane. However the main concerns quickly evaporated on meeting the local foreign and Chinese managers as they were extremely welcoming, professional and efficient. Inside and outside of the school their level of support has been second to none. Having a curriculum to follow, complete with teacher’s manuals, gave a structure to classroom activities that was invaluable to this and every other Aston rookie. In addition, all of the staff helped enormously with large doses of advice and humour during the early days as I adapted to life as a teacher. I originally chose to come to Xianyang because of its location and long history and whilst both criteria have exceeded expectations it is the new friends and witty students I’ve met here who have made this such a great experience."
