Linyi, situated in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong,now plays host to one of Aston's newest schools. When walking around the city our foreigners are often greeted with smiles and “Hello!”s from Weinan residents young and old. Getting around the city is no problem either. Wide roads and non-crowded streets mean walking or cycling around the city is stress-free and relaxing.

The people are friendly and inviting. Strangers look-on with intrigue at never-before-seen foreign faces, while English students all over the city want to take the opportunity to practice their English. It's easy to make friends, and this leads to great opportunities to develop (or start learning!) Chinese language.

The square and area surrounding it has many shops and restaurants, ranging from western fastfood, KFC, McDonalds, & Pizza Hut, to Chinese restaurants and food stands, with some situated on the corner of the school's road. The shops consist of shopping malls and smaller outlets with western and Chinese brands to a large supermarket where one can buy everything from clothes, DVDs, and electronics to the usual items a supermarket houses, food.

Around the city you'll find mountains, rivers. The “yi” river (after which the city is named) flows to the city.Also, “Mengshan” in linyi is very famous inShandong. In the countryside, there are wonderful sights, for exmple, the bamboo and spring countryside .

School

The school boasts the excellent location of being across the road from the People's Square, the city center of Linyi.

The school currently operates with 2 foreign teachers, which makes up part of a team consisting of a Chinese Manager, 3 Chinese staff and several reception staff that make the atmosphere and work environment in the school a comfortable, welcoming and professional school to work in.

The Chinese Manager and Teacher's are all qualified and experienced to offer the best teaching experience to our students. At present the school is small, with 300 students, but with plenty of room for expansion in the future, Linyi shows promising signs of growing to accommodate many more students, which will be taught by a 10 strong foreign teaching staff team.

Apartments

The apartments are situated right opposite the school. Being so close means it's easy to go home and relax after a long day teaching.

All apartments are furnished with a sofa, TV, microwave, toilet, etc. The complex is situated in the heart of the city, within a 5-minute walk you'll find the 24 hour McDonald's, big supermarkets, bank, bars, countless local restaurants and the complex is right next to a bus stop if you want to go anywhere else in the City. What’s more, every teacher has single apartment, and it is completely new.
