The Aston Practical TEFL
This practical course covers the basics of teaching English as a second language and provides all the practice and coaching necessary to get teachers off to a confident, flying start. The course includes an online component which expands on and previews key components of language teaching.
runs over 8 days and is led by two experienced trainers. A one day break in the middle of the course will give participants an opportunity to visit local highlights – the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, or the coastal sights in Dalian. The cost of the course is $500. A special price of $315 is available to participants who stay on to teach with Aston. This fee covers shared hotel accommodation, pick-up from the point of arrival in the city, an end of course dinner, the online component, training materials and tuition. The fee does not cover the optional day trip, or food costs.
The APT course is available in Xian, the historic capital of China, and Dalian, a very popular seaside resort.

- Xi’an (March Semester) February 20th – February 27th
September Semester
- Xi’an (Sept Semester) August 21st – August 28th
- Dalian (Sept Semester) August 21st – August 28th
Fees: Non Aston teachers: $500 Aston teachers: $315 Fees should be paid at the beginning of the course in cash using US dollars or Chinese Yuan.
Teachers continuing to teach with Aston for another 6 or 12 months, will also receive a re-imbursement of $110 (750 Yuan) to cover the costs of the online modules. The reimbursement will be added into your salary six months after the start of teaching
Registration for the online component is automatic, and full instructions are sent to participants 3 months before in-person course starts.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course you will receive certificates stating that 
you have successfully completed a Practical TEFL Course and an online component. The online course certificate can be sent pre-arrival where certification is needed as part of the visa process. Please let us know in advance if this is necessary. More information on this is available.

Located in northern Jiangsu Province, Xuzhou is a classic modern Chinese city. Its history dates back over the past two millennium, and is physically evident throughout with a large number of cultural relics dating as far back as the Han Dynasty scattered about the city and local countryside. Xuzhou Aston opened in May of 2006. The school is well equipped, and beautifully furnished and decorated. The spacious interior contains 13 classrooms with high ceilings and numerous large windows. We are located in downtown Xuzhou near Yunlong Lake in a lively area of commercial shopping, upscale restaurants, and winding alleys with street vendors selling everything imaginable.
